Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Mission Command Systems Integrator is responsible for planning and developing the Command-and-Control infrastructure for multifaceted virtual and simulated training environment to allow interoperability of systems in a Joint military environment. This position includes the following responsibilities:
- Design, install, configure, operate, and maintain simulations using JLCCTC-ERF/ JLCCTC Ver. 8.1 to support day-to-day operations and deployed events.
- Install, configure, operate, and maintain all unclassified and classified RedHat Linux (6.0, 7.0) servers.
- Design, install, configure, operate, and maintain simulation networks using switches, routers, and other networking.
- Install, configure, and maintain network capabilities to connect to multiple simulations to integration testing and validation events.
- Basic audio and video setups for simulations.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, any discipline, or (3) years’ experience on currently fielded simulations in the JLCCTC-ERF/ JLCCTC Ver. 8.1. required.
- Required Security Plus certification and have passed the Computing technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Security+ certification exam.
Experience
- One year experience operating, managing, administrating, and working with local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), linking C41 application and mission command systems (AFATDS, FBCB2, JCR/JCB-P, CPCE, JADOCS, and/or DDS) with the JLCCTC Ver. 8.1 or JLCCTC-ERF simulation is required.
- One year Information Technology experience in Mission Command System integration, network administration, consulting, analyzing, designing, installing, and maintaining computer software applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network infrastructure equipment; directing projects; providing customer or technical support in information technology; administering and supervising staff in information technology analysis, system maintenance, and troubleshooting/ problem resolution required.
- One year of experience in system administration, resource management, and security monitoring is required.
- Required one year experience using the most recent version of Microsoft & LINUX Operating System (e.g. Win 7 / 10 & LINUX OS), Microsoft Office Applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Professional 2013), and other common desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Axway, DameWare Remote Utility, etc., and the ability to quickly learn unique applications preferred.
- Required one year experience configuring the Advanced Simulation Technology Inc. (ASTi) Radio Systems, Server and building communications plans to support Constructive Simulations training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to provide technical support and mentoring for complex network systems.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in network operations, including configuration, backup, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and practices, including the ability to handle privileged user qualifications and maintain security certifications.
- Ability to perform in-depth analysis of network issues and provide recommendations for architecture modifications and advanced technical processes.
- Proficiency in preparing and delivering procedures, processes, and instructional support.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced capabilities and monitor equipment user performance.
- Skills in diagnosing and resolving complex network and LAN connectivity issues, and handling system upgrade or release installations.
- Ability to write, edit, and manage communication and training materials.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) desired.
Additional Information
- The position is contingent upon contract award.
- Required to sit for extended periods and maintain focus.
- Daily travel in the local area during the workday (including using a personal vehicle).
